Teach Yourself Something New at Silver Science Days, Presented by the South Florida Science Center
Science is not just for kids! On the second Wednesday of every month from 2:00-5:00 p.m., guests 60 and older can enjoy a discounted afternoon at the South Florida Science Center. See it for yourself this Wednesday, when the Center presents “Neuroscience of Journey Through the Human Brain Exhibit” by Dr. Nicole Baganz of Florida Atlantic University Brain Institute.
Journey Through the Human Brain takes a bottom-up approach to tell the story of the human brain, from the molecular and cellular level to the integrated circuitry that creates our hopes, fears, and memories. The exhibit encompasses a new west wing of the Science Center and includes multiple galleries. Guests are treated to 30 interactives appealing to both adults and children.
The Introductory Gallery emphasizes the theme of the exhibit and will even feature a walk-through fog screen and an augmented reality brain projection. An immersive Brain Development Wall shows the growth of the brain over a lifetime. The “Lie to Me” interactive showcases how much effort the brain goes through to lie. The “Senses, Thoughts and Emotions Gallery” allows visitors to explore sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch.
Silver Science Days are only $10 per person. Complimentary refreshments and a planetarium show (3 pm and 4 pm) are included with admission. There will also be $2 discounted Mini Golf tickets. So, don’t miss out on Silver Science Days this Wednesday! For more information, please visit www.sfsciencecenter.org or call (561) 832-1988.
